Equal opportunities and gender equality at MATE

Equal opportunity tasks are handled by the Equal Opportunity Officer and the Department of Recruitment and Personnel Development within the framework of the Equal Opportunity Committee and HR Directorate – under the management of the director.
The equal opportunity efforts are supported by the committed equal opportunity campus coordinators at each campus. Their main tasks include receiving complaints from students – and, where applicable, employees – and forwarding them to the Equal Opportunity Committee.

Who to turn to?

If any employee has questions or problems related to equal opportunities or gender equality, they can contact the Equal Opportunity Committee, specifically the HR Director as the chairperson, the person responsible for equal opportunities, or the campus coordinators.
If instructors notice that a student needs assistance – for example, in the case of a student with a disability, special accommodations – it is advisable to refer the student to the campus coordinator.

Chairperson of the Equal Opportunity Committee: Dr. Júlia Vass, HR Director

Equal Opportunity Officer: Dr. Zita Bende

Equal Opportunity Campus Coordinators:

• Buda Campus (Budapest): Dr. Beáta Gosztola
• Georgikon Campus (Keszthely): Dr. Gábor Lukács

The promotion of equal opportunities and gender equality is also supported by equal opportunity officers – appointed in each institute and directorate – whose primary task is to maintain direct contact between the University staff and decision-makers. They directly inform staff about programs and services organized by the University (e.g., health screenings, mental health counseling, legal assistance) and, if necessary, assist in data collection.
